About LLT

I started LLT in September 2014 to give my students an online space for Eglish language practice. It was also somewhere for me to create activities without the need for paper and photocopies.

By 2016, LLT had grown in content, users and the amount of time I was dedicating to the site. While this was great as a hobby, I wasn’t clear where to take things next, and it became a big bag I was carrying around in my head.

Fast forward to the pandemic, and I decided to focus on creating wordlists with interactive exercises for the Cambridge exams. This meant writing definitions and recording audio for all the vocabulary items, before even thinking about dynamic flipcards and interactive exercises.

Then, early in 2022 my badly-coded site broke completely. It was the moment to decide whether to try and resurrect it or start from scratch. Of course, starting again wouldn’t be as difficult as the first time, and I had a much clearer idea about how I wanted to develop LLT than I did back in 2014, so that’s what I decided to do.

If you’ve used LLT over the years, first of all I’d like to apologize that all the old activities are unavailable now. New resources are on the way and I will be creating lots of new content in the coming months. And if you’re visiting for the first time, I hope you enjoy using the site.

Thanks and happy learning!!

Luke
